Here we go once again…Vegan’s in the Hood are out and about in search of vegan and gluten-free menu items around San Diego. Today we visited Juice Nation in Solana Beach. If you follow us at Goofy Foot Foods, you know we’re huge fans of smoothies and juices due to the nutritional punch they offer for a busy lifestyle. Quick, targeted nutrition is a perfect solution for many of us who are running low on steam and need a boost. Juice Nation, with its slightly contemporary, eco-glam decor did not disappoint!
Megan and I entered to the sweet smell of organic juice and were greeted by a lovely girl behind the counter. The first thing I noticed was their attention to detail. The to-go case was clean and organized with a nice selection of simple meals, snacks and desserts. The salads caught my eye with an edible flower thoughtfully placed on top of each – a nice touch. The most important part of Juice Nation is their absolute dedication to organic, pesticide free food, grown from dedicated farmers.
Check out Juice Nation’s Promise. I absolutely love a company who is 100% transparent and willing to hang up their personal message for all to see. It certainly makes me want to return and support this business knowing their personal “WHY” statement. Why they do what they do!
We were also fortunate enough to meet Matt Golden, one of the owners of Juice Nation. He shared with us his desire to help fight the obesity epidemic in this country by providing clean, organic food for all. I’m hoping anyone interested in juice, juice cleansing, or simple clean food, will visit in support of a restaurant with a purpose. It’s in simple ideas that great things happen.
We were pleasantly surprised by the price point of our smoothies at $8.50 each for 16 ounces. Megan ordered one of their specialty smoothies, the Pumpkin Spice, and I ordered a Cacao Maca smoothie with added Natural Warrior Protein from Sunwarrior. Both were delicious and satisfying.
